Volkswagen Introduces Trucker Napp to Transform Drivers’ Sleep into Incentives

Volkswagen Caminhões e Ônibus, in collaboration with Livelo, Brazil’s leading rewards program, has launched the innovative Trucker Napp – Earn While You Sleep initiative to bolster road safety across Brazil.

This groundbreaking initiative employs smartwatches to monitor truck drivers’ sleep duration, quality, and frequency. Through a points-based system integrated into an app, drivers earn Livelo points based on their rest hours, which can be redeemed for cash, products, experiences, or trips, catering to individual preferences.

The primary aim of Trucker Napp is to incentivize drivers to prioritize quality sleep, addressing sleep deprivation-related accidents that contribute to a staggering 42% of traffic incidents in Brazil. As one of the world’s largest trucking populations, Brazil stands to benefit significantly from initiatives promoting driver safety and well-being.

While currently in a pilot phase focused on drivers from one of Brazil’s largest transport companies, the initiative aims for scalability, inviting carriers nationwide to participate.

AlmapBBDO, the visionary agency behind Trucker Napp, envisions a future where this initiative fosters healthier habits and lifestyles among truckers, ultimately contributing to Brazil’s economic prosperity while ensuring safer roads for all.
