LIA Unveils 2024 Juries for Non-Traditional, TV & Cinema, and Online Film Categories

London International Awards (LIA) has announced Nadja Lossgott, Chief Creative Officer at AMV BBDO, London, as the Jury President for the Non-Traditional competition. Marco Venturelli, Chief Creative Officer at Publicis France and CEO/CCO at Publicis Conseil, Paris, will preside over the TV & Cinema and Online Film Jury.

Celebrating its 39th year, LIA continues to assemble the world’s most esteemed creative talents, ensuring only the finest creative ideas and executions are recognized. Nadja and Marco will lead their respective juries through all rounds of judging at Encore @ Wynn, Las Vegas. LIA’s transparent judging process allows all jurors to see every piece of work in their categories, fostering spirited discussions and debates through the final statute decisions. These panels will decide on the Gold, Silver, and Bronze Statue Winners, as well as the Finalists. At their discretion, each panel may also award a Grand LIA. With no off-site pre-judging, all judges are fully involved from start to finish, ensuring everyone is aware of the final results before they are announced.

Nadja Lossgott, in her first role as Jury President for LIA, expressed her enthusiasm for judging the Non-Traditional competition: “I’m thrilled to be judging the work that doesn’t fit a specific mold and sits outside of the boundaries of the known. These are the ideas and executions that plot a new path for our industry.”

‘Engagement’ is crucial to the success of a product or service. Brands strive to connect with consumers in a real and meaningful way. Non-traditional advertising is an innovative and unconventional approach to capturing attention and involvement from consumers.

Marco Venturelli, the Jury President for TV & Cinema and Online Film, remarked, “What I love about LIA is the quality of the juries and the level of discussions. To be able to review together all submissions live is priceless. LIA is a benchmark in our industry. We’re not only looking for the best work but for the few pieces that truly move us forward. The few pieces that reinvent how we do our jobs, from conception to execution.”

Since the first 10-second black-and-white TV commercial for Bulova watch aired in 1941, television commercials have significantly evolved. Today, consumers can be reached via online, streaming, or cable. Television commercials still hold a significant impact as they combine motion, sound, and sight to tell compelling stories that connect, evoke emotions, and leave lasting impressions.

Barbara Levy, President of LIA, emphasized, “Today’s consumers are very savvy, as they are exposed to so much information. There is no doubt that brands get results from both Non-Traditional and traditional media such as television, cinema, and online film. The bottom line is: that creativity is a key component, no matter how brands choose to advertise. We have the best people in both those jury rooms, so we are watching out for the most creative work to emerge from those two competitions.”
