To celebrate Sweden’s first official State Visit to Singapore, the Embassy of Sweden organized a memorable welcome for Their Majesties the King and Queen of Sweden. In collaboration with creative agency Forsman & Bodenfors Singapore, the iconic blue and yellow taxis of ComfortDelGro were used to create a unique, synchronized formation of the Swedish national flag.
This impressive formation was captured in a special campaign film, showcasing the impressive fleet of taxis. The film was designed as a creative way to welcome the royal couple to Singapore. Joakim Ladeborn, Deputy Head of Mission at the Embassy of Sweden, said, “We saw an opportunity to create a captivating moment using the national colors of Sweden displayed by Singapore’s largest and most iconic taxi fleet.”
In addition to the taxis, several Swedish brands and businesses, including H&M, SAAB, Atlas Copco, GAC Sweden, and others, joined the campaign, displaying their logos on the taxi convoy in a show of support.
The campaign film features a series of carefully choreographed movements, with taxis driving in synchronized formations before finally coming together to form the Swedish flag. This creative welcome was designed to make the royal visit even more special.
The King and Queen’s State Visit to Singapore will take place from November 19–21, 2024. During the visit, they will be joined by a delegation of ministers, state secretaries, and representatives from over 50 Swedish companies, universities, and government organizations.
Firrdaus Yusoff, Head of Creative at Forsman & Bodenfors, said, “It’s not every day you get real taxi drivers involved in something as creative as this. But this royal visit is a once-in-a-lifetime event, and it’s exciting to see so many parties coming together for such a unique idea.”
This will be the first State Visit between Sweden and Singapore, marking an important milestone in the relationship between the two countries.
