In a groundbreaking blend of technology and empathy, Alembic CSR, the corporate social responsibility arm of Alembic Pharmaceuticals, has partnered with Havas Life Mumbai, the healthcare communication division of Havas India, to unveil ‘LullabAI’. This innovative AI-enabled platform is designed to empower speech-impaired mothers by allowing them to create personalized lullabies in their voices for their babies.
In India, lullabies are more than mere songs; they are an essential cultural ritual, fostering a unique bond between mother and child and playing a crucial role in the baby’s cognitive, social, and emotional growth. However, for speech-impaired mothers, participating in this cherished tradition has often been challenging. ‘LullabAI’ aims to bridge this gap, offering these mothers a chance to make lasting memories with their children through customized lullabies.
“We are excited to launch ‘LullabAI’ as part of our ongoing #ForHerWithHer initiative,” said Atul Suri, Sr. Vice President & SBU Head at Alembic Pharmaceuticals. “This platform underscores our dedication to empowering mothers, demonstrating how technology can forge a profound bond between a mother and her child.”
Artica Rajpal, Associate VP & Business Head at Alembic Pharmaceuticals, added, “This initiative beautifully illustrates how technology can enhance lives and promote inclusivity. Every mother deserves to share her unique voice with her child, and ‘LullabAI’ makes that possible.”
The platform utilizes advanced AI technology to convert short-voice samples from speech-impaired mothers into lullabies. Through sophisticated data cleaning, augmentation, and model training techniques, ‘LullabAI’ captures and applies the mother’s voice to a library of pre-recorded lullabies, creating a deeply personal and culturally significant experience. The personalized lullabies are then available for the mother to play for her baby at any time.
Sachin Talwalkar, Chief Creative Officer at Havas Life Mumbai, described the development of ‘LullabAI’ as an immensely rewarding endeavor. “Working on this project pushed the boundaries of technology, reinventing it to enable a deeply meaningful maternal experience essential for early childhood development. It opens up numerous possibilities for mothers and women at large.”
Sangeeta Barde, CEO at Havas Life Mumbai and Regional Head at Havas Life Dubai, emphasized, “Our collaboration with Alembic CSR showcases our commitment to using technology for social good. ‘LullabAI’ goes beyond innovation; it touches lives and creates meaningful connections. We are proud to contribute to a project that brings such joy and empowerment to mothers.”
Developed in collaboration with Perpetual Block, a tech company based in Pune, Rajeev Raja, Founder and Soundsmith at Brandmusiq, and Anmol Bhave, a multiple national award-winning Sound Designer, the platform took six months to develop. It features a simple yet transformative mechanism. Mothers can log in, select a lullaby from a library, and provide a 30-second voice sample. This sample is then used to clean, augment, and apply the mother’s voice to the chosen lullaby, creating a personalized song that is added to her playlist.
Alembic CSR’s dedication to women’s health and inclusivity is vividly demonstrated by ‘LullabAI’, aligning with its broader mission of supporting and empowering women through innovative platforms. This initiative marks a significant step towards creating an inclusive world where every mother’s voice is heard and cherished.
