Apple iPhone 16 ad features action film tropes in slow-motion

Apple has launched a new campaign for the iPhone 16 Pro’s Cinematic Slow Motion feature, showcasing how users can capture Hollywood-style moments right from their phone. The 60-second ad, directed by Emmy-winning filmmaker David Shane, was shot entirely on the iPhone 16 Pro in stunning 4K at 120 fps.

The ad brings back the two fan-favorite detectives from the iPhone 13 Pro’s Cinematic Mode commercial, this time in a playful, action-packed sequel. The detectives humorously parody the classic “walk away from explosion” movie trope. One detective embraces the dramatic moment, while the other questions the slow-motion walk amidst the chaos, adding a fun twist.

The new Cinematic Slow Motion feature on iPhone 16 Pro allows users to capture every fiery detail with amazing clarity, from the explosions to the characters’ reactions. After recording, users can easily adjust the timing, speed, and stabilization of their footage in the Photos app, making it possible to create professional-level content without the need for expensive cameras.

The film is being shown across various platforms, including TV, YouTube, and online videos, demonstrating how iPhone 16 Pro’s camera capabilities can bring cinematic storytelling into the hands of everyone.
