Boots is launching its 2024 Christmas campaign, “The Christmas Makeover,” which features Bridgerton star Adjoa Andoh as Mrs. Claus. Created with VML/The Pharm, this festive ad brings a fun twist to traditional Christmas storytelling. The film takes viewers inside Mrs. Claus’s “Werkshop,” where she and her team of beauty elves prepare the season’s most popular gifts. The twist? Santa Claus is taking a break while Mrs. Claus leads the charge, making sure every beauty enthusiast gets their perfect gift.
The ad features top beauty brands like Bubble Skincare, e.l.f, Sol de Janeiro, and Laneige, with each product carefully tested by Mrs. Claus and her “elf-fluencers,” who showcase a range of beauty styles from glam to fresh and playful. The diversity in looks highlights the wide variety of beauty products available at Boots for all kinds of beauty lovers.
Adjoa Andoh, known for her role in Bridgerton, is excited to play Mrs. Claus, a character who often goes unnoticed during the holidays. In the ad, she proudly takes charge of the festive preparations, reminding viewers that beauty can lift spirits and empower people. Alongside Andoh, the ad also features two well-known beauty influencers, @soph and @snatchedbywill, who test the products and help Mrs. Claus in her mission.
Boots’ Chief Marketing Officer, Pete Markey, explained that this campaign highlights both the magic of Christmas and the unsung heroes who make the season special. With a wide range of beauty gifts for every budget, Boots aims to make this Christmas extra special for all shoppers.
The campaign will be seen across TV, radio, cinema, print, social media, and online for seven weeks. Boots is also using innovative marketing techniques, targeting new audiences and reaching them through social media, YouTube, podcasts, and influencer content. Additionally, the retailer will be experimenting with new formats on platforms like Reddit, Pinterest, and Snapchat. For the first time, Boots is entering the gaming world with a Christmas-themed game on popular apps like Candy Crush, further expanding their holiday reach.
Overall, Boots’ Christmas campaign is not just about beauty products, but also about celebrating the unseen efforts that make Christmas magical for everyone.
