David Droga Steps Down as Accenture Song CEO, Takes on New Role as Vice Chair

David Droga, one of the most influential creative leaders of the 21st century, is stepping down as CEO of Accenture Song at the end of this fiscal year. Droga, who founded the creative agency Droga5 in 2006, led Accenture Song following its acquisition of Droga5 in 2019. Over the past four years, Droga has played a key role in transforming Accenture Interactive into Accenture Song, shaping it into a global powerhouse that integrates creativity, technology, AI, strategy, and data. Under his leadership, Accenture Song grew its revenue from $12.5 billion to $19 billion by the fiscal year ending August 31, 2024.

Effective September 1, 2025, Ndidi Oteh, currently the Americas Lead at Accenture Song, will take over as CEO. Oteh joined Accenture in 2011 and has led several successful digital transformation projects for Fortune 500 companies. She will also become part of Accenture’s Global Management Committee.

In addition to Oteh’s appointment, Nick Law, former executive at Apple, Publicis, and R/GA, will join Accenture Song as the Creative Strategy & Experience Lead, also joining the Global Management Committee.

David Droga’s legacy includes not only his leadership at Accenture Song but also his groundbreaking work at Droga5, which earned him numerous accolades, including being the most awarded creative in Cannes Lions history. His campaigns for brands like The New York Times, JPMorgan Chase, Meta, and Tourism Australia have been highly influential in shaping modern advertising.

As he transitions to the role of Vice Chair at Accenture, David Droga says he is ready to take a step back from the day-to-day operations, but he remains committed to contributing in new ways. In his new role, he will focus on broader strategic initiatives across Accenture and spend more time mentoring, advising, and investing in new opportunities.

Droga’s decision to move into a more strategic role comes after more than 30 years in the industry. His leadership has redefined the role of creativity in business, making Accenture Song a leader at the intersection of creativity, technology, and data. His contributions to the advertising industry have been instrumental in shaping how brands connect with consumers in the digital age.

Julie Sweet, CEO of Accenture, praised Droga for his exceptional creativity, leadership, and impact, calling him a “once-in-a-generation creative leader.” Droga’s influence will continue at Accenture, where he will guide the company’s ongoing commitment to innovation, creativity, and growth.
