Google Australia appoints Poem for PR work

Poem, a creative communications agency based in Sydney, has won the Australian PR business for Google for 2025. This exciting partnership will see Poem handle Google’s PR efforts, including managing launches, announcements, and communication campaigns across a range of Google’s products, such as Google Search, YouTube, Google Maps, and their innovative AI model, Gemini.

In 2025, Google will be celebrating the first anniversary of Gemini, its next-generation AI model, making it a significant year for the tech giant. Poem will support Google by managing its communication activities and helping to promote key products and news to the public.

The collaboration brings Google into Poem’s growing portfolio, which already includes leading technology brands like Sony (PlayStation), Sonos, DJI, and Withings. The partnership also showcases Poem’s creative approach to PR, combining culture-led ideas with effective publicity and campaigns.

Katrin Maurer, Director of Communications at Google Australia and New Zealand, shared that Poem’s focus on creative, people-first campaigns was one of the key reasons for choosing them as a partner. Poem’s ability to blend innovation with creativity aligns with Google’s values, making it a perfect fit.

Poem’s Managing Director, Katie Raleigh, expressed her excitement about the partnership, calling it a great privilege for the agency. The agency’s General Manager, Rhania Farah, highlighted some of their recent achievements with Google, such as featuring a Google researcher at TEDxSydney to discuss AI’s impact on accessibility, collaborating with Queensland University on AI-powered whale conservation, and working with Australian artist Mulga to visualize the top Google search trends in 2024.

This collaboration sets the stage for an exciting year ahead, with Poem playing a key role in Google’s communications strategy for 2025.
