Greynj United Turns Metro Passageway into a ‘Walk Stadium’ for Thai Health Foundation

As urbanization accelerates and hustle culture intensifies, Bangkok faces rising public health concerns. Ranked as the 5th ‘most overworked city’ and 3rd for ‘longest commute times’ globally, the city’s demanding lifestyle is contributing to increased sedentary behavior and adverse health outcomes.

Supatnuj Sorndamrih, Senior Director of Social Marketing Support, emphasizes the importance of integrating physical activity into daily life: “Every move counts towards better health. All physical activity is beneficial and can be seamlessly incorporated into work, sports, leisure, or transport.”

In response to these challenges, Greynj United Bangkok, with support from Bangkok Expressway and Metro, has transformed a 140-meter pedestrian tunnel at Bang Sue Station—one of the busiest transit points in Bangkok, serving 359,000 passengers daily—into a dynamic ‘Walk Stadium’.

The core concept of ‘Walk with Enjoyment’ brings commuters into a 360-degree art space designed to mimic a stadium in a surreal, vibrant universe. This immersive experience features playful characters, motivational quotes, and energetic audio cues to inspire brisk walking and physical activity. Renowned local illustrator SHITTAK, known for his colorful and unique art, has crafted the dynamic visuals for this innovative project.

Greynj United’s Creative Director, Kanchat Chotewattanakul, explains, “We aim to transform this passageway into more than just an advertising space. By employing experience design and behavioral nudging techniques, we seek to capture attention, foster participation, and encourage lasting behavioral changes.”

With this creative initiative, Greynj United is setting a new standard for integrating health and wellness into urban environments, turning everyday transit into an opportunity for physical activity and positive change.
