John Mescall Joins Dentsu Creative as Global Chief Creative Partner

Dentsu Creative has appointed John Mescall as its Global Chief Creative Partner, marking a strategic step to reinforce the agency’s global creative vision and commitment to excellence. Based in New York, Mescall will collaborate closely with Yasu Sasaki, Global Chief Creative Officer, to align and elevate creative standards across Dentsu’s global network.

In his new role, Mescall will lead initiatives aimed at:

  • Prioritizing creative excellence and craft across all markets,

  • Building a thriving global creative community for collaboration and innovation,

  • Leveraging AI and emerging creative tools to enhance workflows, and

  • Expanding talent development opportunities across the network.

Mescall brings decades of global creative leadership, having served as Global Executive Creative Director and President of the Global Creative Council at McCann Worldgroup, and as Chief Creative Officer at McCann Melbourne. Under his leadership, these networks achieved recognition as Cannes Lions Network of the Year and Effie Global Network of the Year. Most recently, he served as Chief Creative Partner at TheNetwork. His work has earned over 100 Cannes Lions awards, including eight Grand Prix, along with accolades from D&AD, One Show, Clio, Spikes, LIA, and Webby Awards. He has also been recognized in ADWEEK’s Creativity 50 and ranked by Business Insider as one of the world’s most creative advertising professionals.
