JvM NERD takes over brand development for the House of Games Berlin

Jung von Matt NERD, the internationally-renowned agency based in Germany, Asia and the UK, has won a competitive tender to handle brand development and create a brand identity for “House of Games Berlin” – a large-scale project funded by the Berlin Senate Chancellery to develop Berlin into Germany’s number one games location.
 
Centered in a 15,000 square meter area in Berlin, “House of Games Berlin” will be a central location for the gaming industry where gaming companies, developers, creatives and the community work side by side under one roof. The space is scheduled to open in 2026. 

Jung von Matt NERD, which specialises in gaming, fandom and culture marketing, will be responsible for the “House of Games Berlin” brand proposition as well as the entire corporate design and creation of its website. 

 

It will work in close coordination with the network association medianet berlinbrandenburg e.V. which is in charge of the project’s steering committee on behalf of the Senate Chancellery and its other members, on the holistic brand and communication strategy to be implemented.

With the games industry in Germany growing fastest in Berlin, the country’s most visited city, the aim is to capitalise on this by creating a location-specific business brand with appeal that will extend far beyond the country’s borders and attract visitors, investment, and talent.

“House of Games Berlin” office and studio space as well as areas for content production will be provided on several levels at the site, including motion capture, sound and streaming studios. 

There will also be multifunctional shared spaces as well as conferences and exhibitions on the subject of games and e-sports – a cultural offering that can also be experienced by the general public. 

Numerous prospective tenants from the industry have already registered for renting premises in the “House of Games Berlin” with the opening planned for next year.
