Very Makes a Bold Comeback with First Fashion Ad in Seven Years, Promising More Confidence

Very’s Bold Fashion Comeback with ‘Haus of Flamingo’. The Gate London Teams Up with Very for Autumn Fashion Campaign

Very is making a statement with the return of its vibrant ‘Haus of Flamingo’ for autumn. After a seven-year hiatus from fashion broadcast TV advertising, Very is back with confidence, swagger, and sass. The long-term fashion platform, developed in collaboration with The Gate London, is a bold testament to Very’s brand proposition, ‘let’s make it sparkle.’ The campaign features the retailer’s iconic three flamingos and a blend of aspirational yet relatable styles, creating a pink-filled brand world that celebrates originality. At its core, the ‘Haus of Flamingo’ empowers customers to unleash their inner flamingo, encouraging self-expression and confidence through fashion.

This autumn Very is catering to the season’s key trends, including bold ‘maximalism,’ feminine ‘boho femme’ with ruffles and shaggy furs, and the minimalist ‘quiet luxury.’ With a dash of humor and flamingo energy, the campaign brings these fashion essentials to life, showcasing how they can elevate wardrobes across the UK and Ireland.

The timing couldn’t be more perfect. As the demand for coats, knitwear, and winter clothing ramps up from August, Very’s sales data show that purchases of heavy outerwear have tripled, and sales of boots have quadrupled. With customers preparing to return to work and adjusting to new routines, autumn becomes a critical period for refreshing wardrobes for themselves and their families.

The centerpiece of this campaign is a 30-second hero film, accompanied by shorter versions and an extensive range of social-first content. Created by The Gate in collaboration with Very’s in-house creative team, the campaign was produced by RSA Films and directed by Tom Dream. Adding to the visual flair, photographer Micaela McLucas captured bold and distinctive stills that complement the campaign’s vibrant narrative.

The film transports viewers back to the ‘Haus of Flamingo,’ fashion’s hottest destination. Set in a sophisticated country manor with a unique twist, the autumn TVC follows a group of friends who take over the manor, transforming it with an abundance of pink, sparkle, and flamingo flourishes. A bemused butler is eventually swept up in the infectious energy that the campaign brings, embodying the fun and lighthearted spirit of the ‘Haus of Flamingo.’

Jessica Myers, Chief Marketing Officer at Very, shared her excitement: “We’re thrilled to welcome our customers back to the Haus of Flamingo for autumn. Launching with a TV ad makes a bold statement. Our customers love fashion, but it can sometimes feel stifling and repetitive. This season, we’re amplifying the confidence, swagger, and sass to showcase our vibrant fashion offering in top autumn programming. We’re bringing back the joy of self-expression so our customers can let their inner flamingo shine with even more sparkle.”

Charlotte Wolfenden, Managing Director at The Gate, added: “For autumn, we’ve reimagined the Haus of Flamingo into a sophisticated country manor with a twist. It’s a place where fashion meets fun, and everyone’s invited to join the party. We’ve infused every corner with flamingo energy, transforming the traditional into something refreshingly bold and pink. It’s fashion that doesn’t take itself too seriously but seriously delivers on style.”

Very’s autumn campaign will be running across TV, VOD, social, and online platforms from August 29th, with media planning and buying managed by Dentsu.

Stay tuned as Very’s ‘Haus of Flamingo’ lights up the autumn season with vibrant fashion and infectious energy!
