VML & Ogilvy Japan Names Asuka Yokota and Joshua Goodall as Co-CEOs

VML & Ogilvy Japan, a leading marketing agency under the WPP group, has made significant leadership changes to drive further growth and strengthen client relationships. Starting April 1, 2025, Joshua Goodall and Asuka Yokota will take on the roles of Co-Chief Executive Officers (Co-CEOs).

Joshua Goodall, currently Managing Director, will focus on enhancing operational capabilities, overseeing finance, and managing legal affairs. Asuka Yokota, also Managing Director, will focus on building strong client relationships while also leading human resources and cultural initiatives. Both leaders will work together to continue VML & Ogilvy Japan’s legacy of delivering outstanding marketing services.

Ichiro Ota, the current CEO, will transition to the role of Chairman of VML & Ogilvy Japan and Chief Growth Officer for WPP in Japan. This change in leadership is aimed at further accelerating the agency’s growth and maintaining its status as a key player in Japan’s marketing landscape.

The leadership team will continue to collaborate with WPP’s Executive Leadership Committee in Japan to contribute to the broader strategy and success of the organization. WPP’s CEO in Japan, Kyoko Matsushita, expressed confidence in the new leadership, emphasizing the strong track record of Joshua and Asuka, both of whom bring extensive international experience.

With this new leadership structure, VML & Ogilvy Japan is poised to continue its growth and to help both Japanese and global brands navigate the rapidly evolving marketing world through innovative strategies, customer experience, and advanced technology.
