This summer, Weis is introducing a playful new character, the Weis-A-Corn, as part of their exciting campaign titled “The Saviour of Summer.” Created by Emotive, this campaign marks their second project for the iconic Australian ice cream brand since being appointed lead creative agency earlier this year.
The Weis-A-Corn is designed to bring a fun and refreshing twist to the Weis brand, embodying the joy and relief that Weis ice creams provide during the hottest days of summer. Voiced by Australian actor Justin Rosniak, this whimsical character features a horn made of a Weis Bar, ready to deliver cool moments when Australians need them most.
The campaign emphasizes how Weis bars serve as the perfect treat for summer, helping to beat the heat and create memorable moments. As Scott Mingl, Head of Ice Cream ANZ at Unilever, puts it, “Weis is an iconic Australian brand, and it deserves a character that’s just as bold and memorable.” He describes the Weis-A-Corn as “a brilliantly simple yet unexpected idea that breaks the mould of advertising in this category.”
Creative Director Rupert Taylor from Emotive also highlighted the unique challenges of summer, stating, “When the temperature rises and the beaches get crowded, we need some help. Enter the magical Weis-A-Corn, who brings delicious Weis bars to everyone.”
The campaign aims to restore Weis’s status as a classic summer staple in Australia and will be rolled out across various platforms, including TV, digital, social media, and outdoor advertising, starting from November 4th.
With its quirky character and refreshing message, the Weis-A-Corn is set to make this summer even sweeter for Australians everywhere!
