Women’s Rights Group Hijacks ‘Skip Ad’ Button for Powerful Campaign Against Violence

In response to the rising violence against women, La Fondation des Femmes has launched an impactful new campaign called #NePasIgnorer. Created by the AUSTRALIE agency, this campaign aims to raise awareness and funds to support women who are victims of domestic violence. The campaign uses a unique approach, hijacking the “skip ad” button on online videos to ensure that viewers cannot ignore the powerful message being delivered. It’s a bold move to make sure that the voices of women who have suffered violence are heard.

The campaign’s message is simple but urgent: “Against indifference, donations make a difference.” The #NePasIgnorer campaign sheds light on how the voices and needs of women, especially those affected by domestic violence, are too often overlooked. It highlights the growing gap between the serious issues victims face and the lack of support available to them.

The campaign also features testimonies from well-known public figures who are standing in solidarity with victims of violence. Singers like Amel Bent and Mathilde, along with actresses such as Julie Gayet, Muriel Robin, and Camille Lellouche, share their support. Prominent activists like Caroline Darian and Diariata N’diaye, who are working with women’s rights associations, also lend their voices to emphasize the importance of addressing this crisis.

Through the campaign, viewers are confronted with striking statistics that underline the lack of resources for women who suffer from violence. For example, it’s shocking to know that 94% of rape complaints are dismissed, and 40% of domestic violence victims stay in dangerous situations because they have nowhere else to go. Even more alarming, in 1 in 3 femicides, the violence had already been reported, and 91% of rape victims know their attacker. These facts show the urgent need for more support, resources, and action.

The #NePasIgnorer campaign runs from November 19 to December 31, 2024. All funds raised will go directly to grassroots organizations that provide support and protection for women who are victims of violence. On November 25, International Day for the Elimination of Violence Against Women, the campaign will be amplified through influencer partnerships and outdoor visuals to increase its reach and impact.

Anne-Cécile Mailfert, President of La Fondation des Femmes, says:
“With #NePasIgnorer, we want to raise awareness about the widening gap between the needs of women victims of violence and the lack of resources available to help them. While public awareness has increased, real action has not followed, leaving many women without the support they desperately need. This campaign is a call to stop ignoring their plight, to take action, and make a difference.”

Gilles Masson, President of AUSTRALIEGAD, adds:
“This is the second campaign we’ve worked on with La Fondation des Femmes to support their outreach efforts. The message is more relevant than ever. Donations are the key to supporting women victims of violence. It’s no longer enough to listen—we need to act and start by donating.”
