BBDO Worldwide announced today that Andrew Robertson, who has been serving as president and CEO since May 2004, will transition to the role of chairman effective October 1st. Nancy Reyes will step into the role of president and CEO, succeeding Robertson.

Under Robertson’s leadership, BBDO has earned a reputation as one of the most consistently creative and effective agencies globally. The network has achieved numerous accolades, including being named Network of the Year at the Cannes Lions a record seven times and the first-ever Network of the Decade in 2020. Additionally, BBDO has been honored as Global Agency of the Year by Ad Age, Adweek, and Campaign since 2005, and recognized as Best of the Best by the World Advertising Research Center. The network has also been named the Most Effective Network in the world five times by the Global Effie Index.

John Wren, chairman and CEO of Omnicom, praised Robertson’s tenure: “Having Andrew lead BBDO for over two decades has been a tremendous asset. His passion and hands-on approach have ensured that BBDO consistently upheld its standards of creative excellence. We are fortunate to have him continue as chairman and are excited for Nancy to lead the network into the future.”

Robertson, who was inducted into the AAF Hall of Fame in 2022 and recognized as one of The 100 Most Influential Leaders in Marketing, Media, and Tech, has played a crucial role in securing major new business wins, including clients like The Home Depot, Enterprise Holdings, and Heineken.

Nancy Reyes, who joined BBDO in October last year as CEO of The Americas, has a strong track record in client growth and talent development. Robertson expressed confidence in Reyes: “Nancy’s decisive leadership and clear vision for our network have made this transition seamless. Her resilience, humor, and commitment to delivering outstanding work make her the ideal choice for CEO.”

Reyes acknowledged Robertson’s legacy, saying, “Andrew’s career and contributions to BBDO are unmatched. I am honored to continue building on his legacy and excited to lead our talented team as we chart the future direction of the agency.”

Robertson affirmed his ongoing commitment to BBDO, stating, “I’m not retiring. As chairman, I will support Nancy, mentor our team, and engage with our clients, continuing to contribute to the agency’s success.”

This leadership transition marks a new chapter for BBDO as the agency looks to build on its storied history under Reyes’ stewardship.
