Duolingo’s Summer Push Ignites Excitement in Language Learning

As summer brings a whirlwind of fun and potential romance, Duolingo has introduced a playful twist to its language learning approach with a new TikTok AR game, created in collaboration with UltraSuperNew Tokyo. This inventive campaign, titled “A Summer Fling with Duo,” is designed to keep language learners engaged and entertained amidst the season’s distractions.

Duolingo’s mascot, Duo, has been transformed into a trendy, life-sized body pillow inspired by the popular Buff Duo meme. This limited-time offer invites players to showcase their kissing skills by syncing kisses with Buff Duo in an engaging TikTok AR game. The top performers will win their very own Buff Duo body pillow, turning the summer fling into a collectible prize.

The TikTok AR game encourages users to compete for the ultimate summer fling with Duo by demonstrating their kissing prowess. The game is available on TikTok until September 21, with winners selected from the highest scorers who use the hashtag #デュオとひと夏の恋 (#SummerFlingWithDuo). Winners will receive their Buff Duo body pillow via mail, making it a coveted collector’s item.

To amplify the campaign, twenty-six lifestyle influencers will participate in the game, creating content with the Duolingo filter and showcasing their own Buff Duo body pillows. Notable creators such as @chichan.dhychan, @ryunarisa1115, and @setteiseven, among others, will be featured, adding a dynamic social media presence to the campaign.
