Dennis Kung appointed as TBWA\Media Arts Lab’s new Executive Creative Director for Southeast Asia

TBWA\Media Arts Lab, Apple’s global creative agency, has appointed Dennis Kung as Executive Creative Director (ECD) for Southeast Asia. In this role, Dennis will lead the agency’s creative vision across the region, working closely with Head of Strategy and Managing Director Michaela Futcher, and reporting directly to Brent Anderson, Global Chief Creative Officer.

A Taiwanese-born, U.S.-raised creative leader, Dennis brings over a decade of experience spanning North America and Asia. He has worked at leading agencies including Ogilvy, Mother, Wieden+Kennedy, Translation, Quality Meats, and Mojo Supermarket. During his career, he has led award-winning campaigns for some of the world’s most influential brands.

Dennis’s work includes IBM’s Cognitive Dress, one of the first AI-driven activations, Target’s Tarzhay Everyday, WhatsApp’s UGO documentary featuring NBA star Giannis Antetokounmpo, and Facebook’s Haunted Marketplace. In China, he has helped global brands such as HP, IKEA, and Hennessy strengthen their local relevance, while also supporting local brands like OPPO to expand internationally. Alongside Steph Cajucom, Dennis played a key role in developing GoDaddy’s Act Like You Know, which won the B2B Grand Prix at Cannes Lions.

Brent Anderson praised Dennis, saying, “Dennis brings a rare combination of creative experience and cultural understanding. His instinct for creating emotionally resonant ideas grounded in local insights is exceptional. I’m excited to see the impact this team will make across all platforms and markets.”

Dennis expressed his excitement about the role: “Apple is a brand I’ve long admired, not only for its creativity but also for its clarity, consistency, and care. Joining Media Arts Lab Southeast Asia, in one of the world’s most vibrant cultural hubs, is a tremendous honor. I look forward to creating work with the incredible MAL team that resonates deeply with local audiences and has a meaningful regional impact.”

This appointment highlights TBWA\Media Arts Lab’s continued commitment to Southeast Asia as a growing hub for creativity, cultural innovation, and regional impact.
