At a time when misinformation, manipulated content and AI-generated news are making it increasingly difficult to separate fact from fiction, The Indian Newspaper Society (INS) and BBDO India have launched a new print campaign, ‘Ink Doesn’t Lie’.
The campaign highlights a simple but powerful truth: as the volume of information continues to grow, trust becomes increasingly valuable. Newspapers and magazines are not defined by being the first to publish a story, but by the rigorous processes behind every page—including fact-checking, editorial scrutiny, accountability and accuracy.
‘Ink Doesn’t Lie’ brings this idea to life through the metaphor of an oath. The print executions highlight the unseen work behind journalism: reporters verifying information, editors questioning facts, photographers witnessing events firsthand and the press publishing only after the facts have been established.
Vivek Gupta, President of the Indian Newspaper Society, emphasizes that print media continues to play an important role in informing, educating and empowering the public, while strengthening democracy. Its core values of credibility, depth, inclusivity and responsibility remain central to the trust readers place in print.
Josy Paul, CCO of BBDO Group and Chairperson of BBDO India, notes that in an age of endless information, trust has become one of the most valuable resources. ‘Ink Doesn’t Lie’ celebrates print journalism’s commitment to verification over virality and truth over speed.
With INS representing more than 800 national and regional newspapers and magazines, the campaign is being amplified across its extensive member network, reinforcing the role of print media in supporting informed public discourse and a stronger democracy in India.
‘Ink Doesn’t Lie’ is more than a campaign—it is a powerful reminder that when information is everywhere, credibility still matters.
