CelcomDigi is bringing a fresh perspective to family traditions with its latest Chinese New Year campaign. The new film, “Threads of Legacy,” tells the inspiring story of how modern technology can help preserve cultural heritage while strengthening family bonds across generations.
The film follows Blaze, a young girl from a family renowned for their exquisite cheongsam designs—a legacy nurtured over generations. With Chinese New Year approaching, her mother and aunt decide to cancel their annual cheongsam show due to time and manpower constraints. However, Blaze refuses to let their tradition fade. She turns to technology, using projection mapping and CelcomDigi’s seamless connectivity to create a breathtaking presentation. Standing in a plain white cheongsam, she mesmerizes the audience as intricate designs are projected onto her dress, bringing her family’s craftsmanship to life in a way never seen before.
At its heart, the film celebrates the power of connection. CelcomDigi believes that traditions don’t have to be lost with time—they can evolve, flourish, and remain meaningful when innovation and heritage come together. The campaign encourages Malaysians to embrace technology as a bridge between generations, allowing them to learn from one another and reimagine cultural practices in new ways.
In addition to the film, CelcomDigi has collaborated with young Malaysian artists to design special red packets for 2025. The selected designs blend cultural heritage with contemporary artistry, reinforcing the theme of honoring traditions while embracing modern creativity.
Last year, for the Year of the Dragon, CelcomDigi released “Rhythm of Destiny,” a story about a young dragon passionate about playing the drums despite his family’s expectations. When he discovers digital music production, he finds a way to balance his passion with his heritage, winning his family’s support. With this year’s “Threads of Legacy,” CelcomDigi continues to inspire Malaysians to celebrate their roots while embracing the possibilities of the future.
The film is now available on CelcomDigi’s social media and digital platforms, inviting everyone to reflect on the beauty of traditions and how they can be carried forward in innovative ways.
