Born and raised in London, Bates has spent the past decade working in various global cities, including Paris, Buenos Aires, and New York. As a renowned commercial filmmaker, she has directed high-profile campaigns for notable brands such as Western Union, Moët & Chandon, NordicTrack, and Adidas. Her work has been celebrated at major international festivals in New York, Los Angeles, Mexico, London, and Edinburgh.
Bates is known for balancing her commercial projects with narrative filmmaking. Her approach is deeply influenced by her background as a musician and linguist, fluent in French and Spanish. This multifaceted perspective informs her filmmaking, allowing her to capture the nuanced, relatable human moments that resonate with audiences.
