Dawn has just completed a management buy-out to regain its status as an independent agency, and now announces five new team members as it continues to invest in its future growth. The appointments further strengthen the agency’s expertise across craft, culture and strategy, and mark another milestone in a successful period for the business. The five new hires are across creative, strategy, design, account management and project management, reflecting Dawn’s sharpened focus on its core specialisms: brand strategy, brand identity and high-quality creativity designed to build brands for the long term.

Timo ter Braak has joined the creative team as Senior Art Director. Having previously worked at INDIE, Herc and ACE, Timo brings a healthy dose of cynicism and a distinctive perspective to the role. He enjoys collaborating with talented makers who are willing to put their own stamp on the work, helping push creativity to the next level.

“I want to build brands at Dawn for clients who aren’t afraid to make bold choices. De Baak is a great example of that, and exactly the kind of challenge I’m excited to sink my teeth into,” says Timo ter Braak.

Amber Haank joins as Senior Strategy Consultant. She brings a decade of experience, most recently as a Cultural Strategist at ACE. Before that, she was one of the driving forces behind AMARU and worked at Glasnost. Amber is known for her focus on social impact and her instinct for cultural relevance, both in her work for brands and in the industry more broadly.

“For me, Dawn is an agency with a rebellious vision for building strong brands that are firmly rooted in today’s world. They do that by constantly holding a mirror up to the industry, their clients and themselves. You can also see their appreciation for individuality reflected in all of their work,” says Amber Haank.

Anne Bakker joins the team as Account Director. Over the past several years, she has worked independently with fashion and lifestyle brands, and most recently spent four years at Havas Lemz, where she helped deliver campaigns for clients including the Dutch government on urgent social issues such as the award-winning femicide awareness campaign, Where Are You?

“From our very first conversation, Dawn felt like a place where I belong. It’s an agency that doesn’t simply follow the flow, but actively chooses to do things differently. Entrepreneurial, strategically strong and full of substance. A place where my agency experience and entrepreneurial mindset come together perfectly.”

Dora Visky joins Dawn from DEPT as Creative Designer. She was drawn to the agency’s culture, its work with meaningful impact and the central role that design plays in the creative process.

“At Dawn, I have the opportunity to create work for major purpose-driven brands, while the scale of the agency also gives me room to learn, grow and experiment across disciplines. That’s what I enjoy most.”

Finally, Maryam Wasteen joins Dawn as a Project Manager through the agency’s traineeship programme after completing her degree in Creative Business. Dawn launched the programme in 2021 in response to the barriers many graduates face when entering the creative industry. The traineeship provides an entry point for emerging talent, who spend nine months working as fully integrated members of the team while receiving intensive mentoring and support.

“This new chapter for the agency is more focused than ever on sharp minds, clear direction and distinctive creativity. Each of these new hires embodies that: people who are willing to take risks, take initiative and, above all, aren’t afraid to learn, lead and shake things up along the way,” says Marjolein Huisinga, Co-owner and Managing Partner at Dawn.
