Indonesian beauty brand Wardah, in collaboration with Digital Nativ, has introduced Hear in Hijab, a specialized hearing aid designed to address the unique challenges faced by hijab-wearing women, particularly the elderly. Launched in late 2025 under Wardah’s Hijab Shampoo/Dermascalp Expert line, the device combines functionality and fashion, ensuring clarity, comfort, and cultural inclusivity.
The device is designed as a two-part system to prevent sound from being blocked by layers of fabric. The microphone and sound processor are housed in a stylish brooch worn outside the hijab, allowing it to capture prayer calls and conversations clearly. The external piece wirelessly transmits sound to a small, ergonomic receiver placed inside the ear. Weighing only 12 grams, the hearing aid does not press against the ears or snag on fabric, making it comfortable for daily use and during prayer.
Wardah identified that conventional hearing aids are often impractical for hijab-wearing women, causing many to stop using them. Hear in Hijab restores hearing clarity, confidence, and independence without requiring women to alter how they dress or practice their faith.

This innovation has been internationally recognized for its inclusive and culturally practical design, even being featured at prestigious creative showcases such as Cannes Lions. By integrating technology into a familiar fashion accessory, Wardah has created a product that empowers hijab-wearing women while respecting their lifestyle and beliefs.
