As part of the Lunar New Year celebrations, the Hong Kong Tourism Board (HKTB), in collaboration with Grey Hong Kong, has introduced the ‘Endless Joy’ float, a stunning showcase of the city’s unique blend of tradition and modern creativity.
The float is designed to reflect the spirit of the Year of the Snake, symbolizing interconnected blessings and prosperity for everyone. Featuring elements like snake-shaped designs and rings inspired by the Chinese Knot, it celebrates unity and endless joy. The float’s centerpiece is a large LED lantern, featuring a video collaboration with internationally recognized artist Sija Hong.
Sija Hong’s artwork blends traditional Chinese symbols with contemporary art, bringing scenes familiar to Hong Kong to life, such as temples, horse racing, the wishing tree, and flower markets. Her use of vibrant colors and detailed craftsmanship perfectly embodies the essence of Hong Kong’s Lunar New Year celebrations, where heritage and innovation come together.
The float is a true reflection of Hong Kong’s vibrant culture, where East meets West, and tradition embraces modernity. HKTB’s General Manager of Marketing, Samantha Fan, shared, “We wanted to showcase Hong Kong’s cultural diversity while adding a creative and joyful touch to this year’s Lunar New Year celebrations. Our aim is to invite everyone to experience the unforgettable joy of this festive season.”
