Innvented Agency Redefines Storytelling with ‘Stories That Could Not Be’

Embark on a journey through the poignant narratives of those silenced by the shadows of dictatorship. In collaboration with the Families of Detained and Disappeared Persons and Oriental Films, Invented proudly presents ‘Stories That Could Not Be,’ a stirring short film that echoes the longing for remembrance, truth, and justice.

Set against Uruguay’s turbulent history between 1973 and 1985, this campaign sheds light on the lives snatched away, the dreams shattered, and the voices silenced. At its heart lies the story of Oscar Tassino, a figure emblematic of countless others whose fates remain unresolved.

Through the innovative use of generative artificial intelligence, we breathe life into Oscar’s memory, envisioning the trajectory his life might have taken had it not been cruelly cut short. Drawing from a wealth of photographs and materials provided by the Tassino family, we reconstruct his essence, preserving his legacy for generations to come.

Yet, this campaign transcends mere storytelling. It serves as a rallying cry for truth-seekers, a beacon of hope for families still awaiting closure, and a testament to the resilience of the human spirit. With each frame, we honor the memory of the 197 Uruguayan citizens detained and disappeared, vowing never to forget their sacrifice.

As May 20th approaches, we invite you to stand in solidarity with Karina, the Tassino family, and all those who continue to seek answers. Together, let us demand truth, remembrance, and justice, ensuring that the echoes of the past reverberate into a future free from tyranny.

“Never again to state terrorism.”

Experience ‘Stories That Could Not Be’ and be part of the movement for change.
