Kia Australia has launched an exciting new campaign that highlights their electric vehicle (EV) range in a fun and creative way, set in a post-apocalyptic world filled with zombies. The campaign, developed by Innocean Worldwide, aims to showcase Kia’s EVs as the perfect cars for any situation—even in a world overrun by zombies.
The campaign, which debuted during the Australian Open, uses a unique storyline where Kia’s EV5 and EV9 vehicles are shown as quiet, efficient cars that help their drivers go about life even in the most chaotic environments. The key features, including sound-insulating tires, noise-reducing glass, and whisper-quiet electric motors, are highlighted, showing how they create a peaceful cabin environment that keeps passengers undetected in a zombie-filled world.
The campaign is directed by renowned French filmmaker François Rousselet, who is known for his work with John Lewis and music videos for famous artists like A$AP Rocky and the Rolling Stones. It also features Australian actors such as Luke Arnold, Tess Haubrich, and Chloe Zuel, with a special cameo by television personality and horticulturalist Jamie Durie.
Kia’s marketing team emphasizes that creativity plays a key role in their advertising strategy. The zombie-apocalypse concept against a sunny Australian suburb is a fresh way to introduce their EV range, capturing the essence of Australia’s laid-back spirit while demonstrating the practical advantages of their electric vehicles.
The campaign also takes advantage of Kia’s sponsorship of the Australian Open, further reaching a wide audience. In addition, exclusive behind-the-scenes content with the actors and creators has been produced, adding more engagement to the overall campaign.
This innovative approach reflects Kia’s ambition to provide bold, unexpected, and entertaining marketing, as they continue to expand their presence in the growing electric vehicle market.
