New Workshop Empowers Marketing Mums Returning to Work

Marketing agency Pangea has launched a special event called EMMA—Empowering Marketing Mums Australia. This event is designed for 20 marketing professionals on maternity leave in Melbourne, whether they are currently employed or looking for new opportunities. It will be held on Tuesday, October 22, 2024, starting at 10:00 AM and finishing at 2:00 PM, including a workshop and a lunch session.

The event in South Yarra will feature a two-hour workshop that focuses on helping mothers transition back to work after maternity leave. The workshop will cover rediscovering professional strengths, understanding recent industry trends, insights into the modern marketing world, and providing inspiration for navigating this stage of life.

Following the workshop, attendees will enjoy a relaxing lunch at The Beverly, where they can meet and connect with others in similar situations. The goal is to help these women build a supportive community as they return to work.

Guest speaker Luci Hodgson, a mum and marketing leader at Uber, will share her thoughts on the challenges and advantages of becoming a parent while maintaining a career. She believes that while there’s a misconception that taking time off for children might slow down a career, the truth is that parenthood helps broaden perspectives and strengthen professional skills.

The event’s workshop is led by Prudence Warnock, a mother of two and a seasoned business director at Pangea. She has designed this workshop to support mothers, helping them feel confident and prepared for their return to work. The program addresses the common challenges that working mums face and offers practical advice on how to succeed after maternity leave.

Other speakers include Lauren Treweek, producer and co-host of the podcast “Ready or Not,” and Libby Gude, Chief Marketing Officer at Ozdare and equality activist. Together, they will provide valuable insights to help marketing mums navigate this important transition back to work.
