Sarah McGregor joins AKQA as Executive Creative Director Australia; David Clarke promoted to APAC Experience Design Lead

AKQA Australia has announced two significant leadership updates that reinforce the agency’s creative and design capabilities across the region. Sarah McGregor has joined as Executive Creative Director, while David Clarke has been promoted to Executive Experience Design Director for the Asia Pacific (APAC).

With over 20 years of experience in Melbourne and London, Sarah McGregor has held senior creative roles at renowned agencies such as Dentsu Creative, Leo Burnett, and Grey London. She has led award-winning campaigns for major brands including Honda, Bonds, Virgin, Kmart, and The Iconic. Known for her passion for storytelling and mentoring, she is also a founding member of The Aunties, an initiative that supports women in the creative industries. Based in Melbourne, Sarah will collaborate closely with AKQA Australia’s leadership team to deliver impactful and innovative creative work.

David Clarke, who has spent two decades at AKQA across offices in London, New York, and Australia, will now lead the agency’s experience design across Australia, New Zealand, and Japan. His promotion reflects AKQA’s commitment to expanding its creative thinking and strategic design across the region. In his new role, David will report to AKQA APAC CEO Brian Vella.

AKQA Australia’s Managing Director Jeremy Smart said that both leaders bring exceptional talent, energy, and vision to the agency. He emphasized that Sarah’s creative leadership and inclusive approach align with AKQA’s values, while David’s deep understanding of experience design will help shape the agency’s future across APAC.

These appointments mark a new chapter for AKQA, highlighting its ambition to deliver world-class work that combines creativity, technology, and purpose.
