Hyundai offers an intimate look at the people and ideas behind IONIQ 3 design

A series of interviews with European designers, integrated into Hyundai’s “This is more than freedom” campaign, take audiences across different locations, following the designers behind the new IONIQ3 deep into their creative process.

Frankfurt am Main, 22 October 2026: The new interview series offers an intimate look behind the creation of IONIQ 3, putting the personalities behind its design at the centre of the story.

The interviews explore design not as a finished outcome, but as a personal process. At the centre are the designers themselves, their individual perspectives and the places, objects, materials and cultural influences that spark their ideas. The series shows how inspiration becomes a point of view – and how that point of view ultimately becomes a car.

The series takes audiences to different locations: Amsterdam, Frankfurt and Russelsheim, where the Hyundai Motor Europe Technical Center (HMETC) is based, revealing the many different forms inspiration can take. Urban environments, architecture, materials, culture, technology and everyday observations become personal starting points for design. Together, they create a multifaceted portrait of the creative thinking behind IONIQ 3.

“Points of Inspiration” offers a personal and unique perspective on freedom, shown through the lens of each designer behind the IONIQ 3. A freedom that pushed them to move forward, think differently, challenge conventions, and create beyond the boundaries of the industry. Just as in our campaign “This is more than freedom”, these series showcase how real freedom was infused in every detail of the car to turn the everyday ordinary into something extraordinary.

Hugo Moura, Creative Director Social, INNOCEAN Europe said: “We didn’t want to present design as a finished result, but as something deeply personal. Behind every shape there is a thought, an observation, an experience or a place that inspired someone. These individual ‘Points of Inspiration’ are what make the stories compelling. By meeting designers within their own worlds of inspiration, we create a much more intimate connection between the people behind the vehicle and the people who will eventually experience it.”

Andrea Razeto, Head of Integrated Marketing Campaign Hyundai Motor Europe said: “IONIQ 3 represents a modern perspective on mobility – and that perspective starts with design and the art of steel. With ‘Points of Inspiration’, we want to show that behind a vehicle there is not only a design process, but people with individual stories, experiences and sources of inspiration. The series gives our European audiences the opportunity to meet these people and discover IONIQ 3 & Hyundai from a very personal and new perspective.”

DEVELOPED SOCIAL-FIRST, PRODUCED THROUGH INTEGRATED CAPABILITIES

The production of “Points of Inspiration” brings together the expertise of Gloria, INNOCEAN‘s Social Media Offer and the integrated production capabilities of Gloria Studio, INNOCEAN Europe’s dedicated production setup.

Gloria brings together Social Strategy, Creative, Editorial, Content Development, Community Management, Influencer Marketing and Content Creation within one integrated social team. This enables stories to be developed not only for social media, but from the outset with audiences, platforms and communities in mind.

Through Gloria, INNOCEAN Europe also offers integrated production capabilities for social-first content – ranging from agile creator-led and content production to larger-scale productions. For “Points of Inspiration”, these capabilities worked closely together, allowing the creative idea, format, editorial perspective and production approach to evolve as one, tailored to the different personalities and locations featured in the series.

Steffen Pferr, Business Director Social Media, INNOCEAN Europe said: “‘Points of Inspiration’ is a strong example of what happens when Social, Creative and Production operate as one team rather than as separate disciplines. Gloria brings the social-first perspective and an understanding of platforms and communities, while Gloria Studio enables us to translate those ideas into flexible and efficient production. This allows us to develop stories that feel closer to people, while maintaining the quality and consistency required for a European campaign.”

Bringing Social and Production closely together also enables an integrated process from the initial idea through to the final asset. Rather than producing content first and adapting it for social afterwards, the stories are developed with their eventual platforms, audiences and communities in mind from the beginning.

With “Points of Inspiration”, Hyundai adds a personal and cultural layer to the IONIQ 3 communication. Rather than simply showing what was designed, the series explores where the ideas came from – making the design process itself part of the campaign. “This is more than freedom” becomes an invitation not only to experience freedom, but to think about it differently.
