San Francisco Bay Coffee, an environmentally-conscious coffee brand, has launched a new campaign promoting its commercially compostable OneCUP™ coffee pods. Created by Cutwater and directed by Remus + Kiki, this campaign marks the duo’s first project since joining the Psyop roster.
The campaign delivers a powerful message: 80 million plastic coffee pods end up in landfills every day, posing a serious threat to the environment. The animated video brings this issue to life in a vibrant 2D world, where characters realize that each sip from their coffee cup brings them closer to contributing to the landfill, flooding the world with plastic waste.
Designed in a fun and playful style, the animation emphasizes the importance of small, eco-friendly actions we can all take every day to make a big impact. By choosing San Francisco Bay Coffee’s compostable pods, consumers can play a part in reducing waste and protecting the planet.
Directors Remus + Kiki shared, “We’re excited to have had the opportunity to bring our creative instincts to life with a visual blend that’s both friendly and funky. We drew inspiration from underground comic legends like Gilbert Shelton and R. Crumb, and aimed to give our characters an endearing, quirky quality that makes them relatable. This helps drive home the message that, in the end, our small daily choices can have a huge environmental impact.”
This campaign marks San Francisco Bay Coffee’s first-ever advertising initiative, aimed at increasing brand awareness while showcasing their commitment to sustainability.
